Almost all low profile gas blocks of inside diameters up to .750 will fit with clearance inside our AR15 handguards. .875 gas blocks require a slight modification to the inside of our handguard and the addition of a top rail. Please contact us directly for details at info@smokecomposites.com.
Barrel Nut: 35-80 ft/lb.
10-24 Fasteners: 20 in/lb.
1.25" Crowfoot Wrench (.375" - .50" thick)
Put the crowfoot wrench on the barrel nut and torque it until one of the slots on the barrel nut line up with the gas tube hole in the upper receiver. Start at the 35 ft/lb. and work it up until those grooves line up.

Our standard barrel nut has an outside dimension of 1.542” that fit perfectly inside our large frame handguards. However, there can be differences between the width and the thread pitch on the inside of a barrel nut. Our standard thread pitch is 16 TPI which fits your standard DPMS platforms and almost all large frame upper receivers. If your width or thread pitch varies from this, please contact us directly before placing your order.

Smoke Composites carbon fiber handguards are designed with weight and comfort in mind. The material and shape are optimized to help create some of the lightest, most ergonomic hand guards available.
The properties of the carbon fiber, specifically its low thermal mass and the pattern in which the material orientation is laid out, creates the most efficient hand guard in terms of heat dissipation. This translates into the shooter being able to comfortably handle the gun after hundreds of rounds have been sent downrange.

***Please Note:
*Our top rails are bonded to our handguards and will need to be ordered at the same time as the purchase of your handguard. The top rail runs 7-12 grams, depending on the length. The 12 grams would be for our 15” - 17” handguards and it would go down from there.
*Due to the smaller diameter of the handguard, top rails will NOT align properly with our PCC and SIG MPX handguards.
*Our large frame top rail ordered online comes with a DPMS high profile (.210”). If you have a DPMS low profile setup (.150”), we can make that as well. Please contact us directly before placing your order.

Introducing the SIG MPX Handguard
This simple design attaches with one set screw and is completely free floating, with no portion of the handguard or mount touching the barrel.
The SIG MPX Handguard comes in two sizes to fit a 14.5" (Short) barrel or a 16" (Long) barrel.
